Beatrice P., born 1922

Legally blind, Beatrice dreamed of sailing  like she did in her twenties and to feel the wind in her face once again.  Volunteer expert sailor and Board of Directors Member, (Rotarian) Wally Johnson, along with his co-captain and wife, Janet, and two healthcare aids climbed on board the Ohnesorge - which in German  means "No Cares".    Sailing out of the Portsmouth, NH Yacht club on July 22, 2008, the skies were blue and the wind was in the sails.  It's important to note that whenever a wave rocked the boat, Beatrice giggled! Following the sail, lunch was served to the crew at the Yacht Club - donated by the Johnsons.  Janet Johnson served up her homemade dessert to top off the day!
